Teeth whitening, or tooth bleaching, is a cosmetic dentistry procedure designed to remove stains and discoloration, as well as lighten pigmentation within the teeth. The level of whiteness that can be achieved will depend on the level of discoloration of the teeth and how they came to be stained. Dentist supervised treatments provide greater teeth whitening results faster than store bought kits.
Two types of treatment are available.
TAKE HOME TREATMENT
A take home system involves custom fabricated trays, dispensed with the appropriate bleaching gel to
be worn at home for a two week period. A take home treatment typically whitens teeth 5-10 shades.
A dentist supervised take home kit contains higher concentration of whitening agent than a store
bought kit and is as easy to use. You are likely to be more satisfied with the results of a Dentist dispensed kit than
a store bought kit,
IN OFFICE TREATMENT
